Text Description: Sample of juvenile block from block-and-as flows deposited on the debris avalanche formed during flank collapse of ancestral Mt. Spurr (“pyroclastic fan”; sample PF-54 of Nye and Turner (1990). Lava flow same canyon as S3. Flow has abundant small columns and blocks ~25 cm diameter. Orangish stain (not hematite). "Perhaps much older than S3" (field notes).
