Text Description: | Stratigraphic Unit No. 6. Interpreted deposit type: tephra fall and paleosol complex. Thickness: 35 cm (10 cm of which is poorly developed A-horizon of soil). Grain size: coarse ash with discontinuous lenses of fine lapilli. Bedding: massive. Sorting: well sorted except where coarse lenses exist. Juvenile clast type: white pumice. Remarks: representative sample of base. Munsell color-wet: 10YR 5/4. Munsell color-dry: 10YR 7/4. Grain shape: angular. Age: ~3650+/-150 yr. B.P. |
