Text Description: Sample of a holocrystalline flow of aphyric basanite. The rock is very fine grained; rare microphenocrysts of plagioclase and pyroxene are seen. The groundmass shows sharp, small euhedral crystals of olivine, and very small crystals of pyroxene. The plagioclase laths average 0.02 x 0.0015 mm and show a vague preferred orientation. Feldspars range from An55 to An35, with an average composition of An40.
