Text Description: Dome C (1964) sample. Plagioclase, hypersthene, augite, and trace olivine and hornblende phenocrysts in a holocrystalline groundmass of plagioclase microlites, pyroxene, and Fe-Ti oxide. Olivine sometimes shows a faint reaction rim or occurs in the center of Fe-Ti oxide+plagioclase+pyroxene intergrowths. Hypersthene is slightly oxidized along fractures.
