Text Description: Massive, porphyritic sample of prehistoric Dome H. Phenocrysts of plagioclase, hypersthene, augite, and minor olivine and hornblende. Hornblende is opacite-rimmed and also may be rimmed by a fine-grained intergrowth of plagioclase+Fe-Ti oxide + orthopyroxene. Groundmass is holocrystalline and composed of plagioclase microlites, Fe-Ti oxides, and pyroxenes.
