The tephra has a median grain size ranging from silt (25 microns) to very fine sand (120 microns), arranged in multiple fining upward units. Within this unit, magnetic susceptibility spikes to 670 SI 10-5 in BBL4 and 500 SI 10-5 in BBL6. Overlies blue-grey clay and is overlain by silt.
