Text Description: | Stratigraphic Unit No. Pit 2, unit a. Interpreted deposit type: tephra fall. Thickness: 5 cm. Grain size: coarse lapilli. Bedding: massive. Sorting: well-sorted. Juvenile clast type: brown (dominant-less dense, slightly more vesicular clasts), black (dense, scoria-like clasts), tan (pumice-like clasts, yet still poorly vesiculated). Remarks: 1992 Crater Peak tephra. Munsell color-wet: 5YR 2/2. Munsell color-dry: 10YR 4/2. Grain shape: angular. Age: 1992. |
