Text Description: Sample of juvenile block from block-and-as flows deposited on the debris avalanche formed during flank collapse of ancestral Mt. Spurr (“pyroclastic fan”; sample PF-48 of Nye and Turner (19900). Very fine-grained gray-brown weathering gray basalt. Distinct from younger gray-and-red deposits. Margin of bluff contains abundant. Fractured and palagonitic material. Outcrop highly fractured with abundant columns, sheets, etc.
