Text Description: |
Discontinuous and contorted pods in silty clay within gravels on Archibald's Bench, an intermediate terrace at 37-42 m above Bonanza Creek. The composition reported here is the average of three samples: UT1055, UT1454, UT1457. Type II beds have more crystals than type I beds, and the glass is mainly in the form of highly inflated pumice. Feldspar, orthopyroxene, and green amphibole are common with minor or trace amounts of red amphibole, clinopyroxene, iron-titanium oxides, apatite, and zircon. |
