| Text Description: | 3-cm-thick-tephra; consists of thin, bubble-wall shards. Orthopyroxene, plagioclase, magnetite, and ilmenite are relatively abundant in the small crystal component, which also contains minor amounts of clinopyroxene, apatite, and zircon. From Preece et al. (2000): tephra bed is underlain by 4.5 m of muck, overlying goldbearing creek gravels. At least 0.3 m of muck overlies tephra bed. From Preece et al. (2011): 3 cm thick; bubble-wall shards, trace amounts of brown glass; in muck overlying gold-bearing gravel; field name CR-72-32. |
