Text Description: 13-cm-thick-tephra; consists of thin, bubble-wall shards. Orthopyroxene, plagioclase, magnetite, and ilmenite are relatively abundant in the small crystal component, which also contains minor amounts of clinopyroxene, apatite, and zircon. From Preece et al. (2000): Discontinuous, white tephra bed interbedded with carbonaceous silt, gravel and sand. Tephra bed is 3.2 m from surface, immediately beneath the permafrost active layer; deformed.
