Text Description: | 3-cm-thick-tephra; consists of thin, bubble-wall shards. Orthopyroxene, plagioclase, magnetite, and ilmenite are relatively abundant in the small crystal component, which also contains minor amounts of clinopyroxene, apatite, and zircon. From Preece et al. (2011): 3 cm thick; bubble-wall shards, trace amounts of brown glass; in organic silt 1.6 m above gravel; covered by 1.3 m of organic silt; field name HHY-31g. |
