Text Description: 30-cm-thick-tephra; consists of thin, bubble-wall shards. Orthopyroxene, plagioclase, magnetite, and ilmenite are relatively abundant in the small crystal component, which also contains minor amounts of clinopyroxene, apatite, and zircon. From Preece et al. (2000): Tephra bed is 1 m below top of muck. From Preece et al. (2011): 30 cm thick; bubble-wall shards, trace amounts of brown glass; in muck; 1 m below top of unit; field name MWM1
