Text Description: Large pumice blocks of WRA were broken into smaller pieces using a clean rock hammer and then lightly crushed with a mortar and pestle. Both the crushed pumice and finer grained tephra samples were sieved to between 0.25 and 0.125 mm and then separated using magnetic methods. The resulting glass was mounted in epoxy blocks and polished. 35-40 cm pumice block; note sample previously analyzed as whole-rock by Richter et al. (1995).
