Alaska Volcano Observatory

Lava from ancestral Crater Peak Peak (proto-Crater Peak of Nye and Turner (1990)) from package of flows inset against ancestral Mt. Spurr lavas west of Crater Peak. Sample PCP-B07 of Nye and Turner (1990). Cliffy ancestral Crater Peak section. Lava w/ large (to 5mm) cpx megacrysts and smaller (~1mm) equant equigranular plagioclase.
