New webcam available
AVO has added a new low-light camera to its collection. This low-light camera is co-located with the daylight camera in Homer. It's extremely sensitive to light and has a range that extends to the Near Infrared (NIR). The image from this camera will often be light-saturated during daylight hours and will display only as a white featureless screen. The night time images may show activity at Augustine. Much of the dome growth occurring at Augustine now emits energy in the NIR. While not visible to the unaided eye, this activity is detectable by this specialized camera.
