AVO website scavenger hunt!

AVO has a new website! To help you get familiar with what's on our site and how to find it, try out this scavenger hunt quiz. To access the quiz (via Google forms), go here.

Here’s how it works: There are 6 questions about Alaska volcanoes. Our website has the answers to all of these questions, and you can spend as much time as you want looking around our website to find them. If you answer all the questions correctly and choose to provide your email address and whether you live in Alaska, you will be entered into a drawing for a prize. The deadline for prize entries is January 28, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. AKST. Five winners from within Alaska and five winners from outside Alaska will receive a deck of AVO regulation playing cards - each of the 54 cards has details of one of our Alaska volcanoes! Winners will be contacted by the email they provide for their mailing address.

It's completely fine to take the quiz without providing your email and whether you live in Alaska, but just remember you won't be able to be entered for the prize drawing. Emails will only be used for the purpose of contacting prize winners, and all data, including email addresses, will be deleted at the conclusion of the event. Participation in both the quiz and the prize drawing is entirely voluntary. Alaska Volcano Observatory employees are not eligible for a prize.
