Atka Island's Korovin volcano summit crater, faintly steaming, as viewed from the air in November, 2012. Photograph courtesy of Roger Clifford. On January 16, 2006, bursts of seismicity at Korovin prompted AVO to raise the Level of Concern Color Code to YELLOW. No eruption ensued, and seismicity eventually declined.
