In this October 25, 2021 WorldView-2 image, the growing lava dome in the summit crater of Great Sitkin now covers an area greater than one square kilometer (~250 acres) and has overflowed the crater rim to the north, west, and south. A robust steam plume also extends from the eruptive vent region to the south.
