The growing lava dome at the summit of Great Sitkin is visible through a gap in the clouds in this WorldView-3 shortwave infrared (SWIR) multispectral satellite image from August 18, 2021. The center of the dome is visible in the bright colors representing very hot temperatures. A steam plume is visible emanating from this region and drifting to the northeast.
