Video of infrasound data (top) and spectrogram data (bottom), from the eruption of Shishaldin Volcano on 19-20 January 2020. The soundtrack was derived from the infrasound datastream by mapping the normally subaudible infrasound signal into the range of human hearing. In this track, you can hear numerous short-duration explosions spaced closely in time until 1/20 0000 UTC, when the eruption transitions to sustained jetting. The jetting coincides with increased ash emissions, and the eruption abruptly ends around 05:45 UTC. Data were recorded at AVO station SSLN. Video created by David Fee, UAFGI/AVO.
