Oblique Google earth view to the north of Aniakchak caldera. The larger of two maar craters lie on the southeastern floor of the caldera adjacent to the steep east caldera wall. The caldera is approximately 10 km in diameter. The larger maar is 450 m (1476 ft) by 515 m (1690 ft). The maar craters lie along the caldera ring fracture system.
