High-resolution satellite image from 18 Sep 2024 of the water lake within the summit crater of Mount Spurr. This lake formed this spring and in this image has a diameter of around 85 meters and an area of approximately 1.4 acres. The lake is partially covered by ice and is blue-green in color. Active steaming from summit area steam vents called fumaroles is visible along and above the snow-free northeastern lake shore and crater wall, and from a pit in the ice on the northeast crater rim.
