Alaska Volcano Observatory

Airborne measurements taken on 16 July 2021 revealed a volcanic gas plume drifting south from degassing vents high on Iliamna Volcano's flank (red colors indicate higher measured SO₂ concentrations of the volcanic plume). These conditions are characteristic of background activity at Iliamna Volcano.
