The Camille cone, part of the Imuruk Lake Volcanic Field, rises in the background and is the source of the Camille lava flow, thought to be erupted during the last glacial period, 12,000-25,000 years ago. Erika Rader (University of Idaho) looks at remnants of a much older shield volcano in the foreground.
