Location description: |
This sampling site is located on the NE end of Umnak Island, on the flanks of Okmok caldera. These flows, together with those from the Ashishik locality, are part of the precaldera volcanic edifice and are collectively labeled the Ashishik Basalts by Byers [1959]. NOTE: The location of this sample was adjusted to more precisely capture lithology found during AVO fieldwork. |
