Text Description: early Quaternary/late Tertiary pre-Snowy Mountain volcanic rocks - part of an older volcanic arc. Sample in thin section is 35-40% plagioclase, to 4 mm; 10% subequal amounts of clinopyroxene and orthopyroxene, to 1.3 mm; 1-2% oxides to 0.4 mm; no olivine; sieved plagioclase present in a few grains; oxide-pyroxene-plagioclase aggregates present.
