| Text Description: | early Quaternary/late Tertiary pre-Snowy Mountain volcanic rocks - part of an older volcanic arc. Sample in thin section is 15-20% plagioclase, to 2.5 mm; 5-7% subequal amounts of clinopyroxene and orthopyroxene, to 1 mm; 1% oxides to 0.5 mm; no olivine; sieved plagioclase present in a few grains; oxide-pyroxene-plagioclase aggregates present. |
