Alaska Volcano Observatory

Sample in thin section is 20-25% plagioclase, to 2.5 mm; 20% subequal clinopyroxene and orthopyroxene, to 1.5 mm; 2-3% oxides to 0.5 mm; no olivine, sieving present in a few plagioclase grains, oxide-pyroxene-plagioclase aggregates also present.
