Text Description: Sample taken from the base of a 60' basaltic andesite? flow. Flow is bracketed by oxidized zones, with an increase in vesicularity with elevation. Talus is blocky and massive, and much like the flow represented by sample 10. Sample contains up to 5% orange weathered ferromagnesian minerals, and occasional 4-6 mm acicular plagioclase in a dark blue groundmass.
