Text Description: Rubbly outcrop of platy and blocky pieces from a dome at Site 15. Fine grained, holocrystalline, porphyritic with a matrix of cryptocrystalline material, opaque, plagioclase and orthopyroxene. Plagioclase phenocrysts are up to 0.95 mm and occasionally have oscillatory zoning or resorbed edges. Orthopyroxene phenocrysts are up to 0.9 mm. Opaque phenocrysts are up to 0.2 mm. A dehydrated phase, consisting of fine opaque with a birefringent core, is present. 97.9% matrix, 1.7% plagioclase, 0.2% orthopyroxene, 0.2% opaque.
