Text Description: Eastern-most sample collected from a rubbly dome outcrop of platy and blocky pieces at Site 15. Fine grained, vesicular, holocrystalline, seriate porphyritic with a matrix of cryptocrystalline material, opaque, orthopyroxene, plagioclase and minor alteration. Plagioclase phenocrysts (An38 - An47) are up to 3.0 mm and occasionally have rounded edges, oscillatory or normal zoning, and/or resorption embayments. Orthopyroxene phenocrysts are up to 0.95 mm. Opaque phenocrysts are up to 0.5 mm. There is a dehydrated phase that consists of fine grained opaque. 70.1% matrix, 19.4% plagioclase, 1.2% orthopyroxene, 0.5% opaque, 0.1% altered phase, 8.7% vesicles.
