Text Description: Approximately 30’ thick flow at South Pass. Fine grained, hypocrystalline, trachytic, seriate porphyritic with a matrix of brown glass, opaque, plagioclase, alteration and pyroxene?. Plagioclase phenocrysts (An38 - An63) are up to 1.75 mm and occasionally have strong normal zoning. Olivine? phenocrysts are up to 0.6 mm and mostly altered. Opaque phenocrysts are up to 0.45 mm. Clinopyroxene phenocrysts are up to 0.22 mm. Trachyandesite.
