Text Description: Vertical sheeted dike trending N55°E cutting up through the brecciated unit (sBA9) at Site 12. Fine grained, holocrystalline, seriate porphyritic with a matrix of mesostasis, opaque, plagioclase and clinopyroxene. Plagioclase phenocrysts (An30 - An57) are up to 1.7 mm and some have oscillatory zoning; normal zoning is more common. Orthopyroxene phenocrysts are up to 1.1 mm and commonly have clinopyroxene rims. Clinopyroxene phenocrysts are up to 0.08 mm. 57.8% matrix, 35.8% plagioclase, 6.3% orthopyroxene, 0.1% vesicles.
