Text Description: Vertical sheeted dike trending E-W cutting up through the brecciated unit (sBA9) at Site 12. Fine grained, holocrystalline, seriate porphyritic with a matrix of mesostasis, opaque, crystallites, plagioclase and clinopyroxene. Plagioclase phenocrysts (An28 - An60) are up to 1.9 mm and the larger grains may have oscillatory zoning or be slightly rounded; there are occasional sieve textured zones. Orthopyroxene phenocrysts are up to 1.2 mm and some have clinopyroxene rims; a few have resorbed edges.
