Text Description: Approximately 25’ thick flow at Site 4. Fine-grained, holocrystalline, seriate porphyritic with a matrix of mesostasis, opaque and green alteration. Plagioclase phenocrysts (An40 - An57) are up to 1.55 mm and some have sieve textured intermediate zones or cores and complex zoning. Orthopyroxene phenocrysts are up to 0.6 mm and some have clinopyroxene rims. Clinopyroxene phenocrysts are sparse and ~0.2 mm in length.
