Text Description: Flow from Site 3. Fine-grained, holocrystalline, intergranular, seriate porphyritic matrix of mesostasis, opaque, chlorite and red-brown alteration. Plagioclase phenocrysts (An28 - An53) are up to 1.3 mm and a few have sieve textured intermediate zones, complex zoning, and some have orthopyroxene inclusions. Orthopyroxene phenocrysts are up to 0.6 mm and a few have opaque inclusions. Clinopyroxene phenocrysts are up to 0.3 mm. Opaque phenocrysts are up to 0.1 mm. There is an altered phase, olivine?, up to 1.2 mm, altered to iddingsite and serpentine/chlorite.
