Text Description: At least 50’ thick flow at Site 3. Fine-grained, vesicular, holocrystalline, intergranular, seriate porphyritic with a matrix of mesostasis, opaque and yellow alteration. Plagioclase phenocrysts (An31 - An54) are up to 2.0 mm and a few have sieve textured cores or intermediate zones, complex zoning or resorption embayments; one grain is rounded with a tooth-like overgrowth. Orthopyroxene phenocrysts are up to 0.9 mm and have clinopyroxene rims, and a few have opaque inclusions. Clinopyroxene phenocrysts are up to 0.15 mm.
