Text Description: A slightly platy, ~10’ thick flow at the top of Site 9 overlying red breccia and scoria. Fine-grained, holocrystalline, porphyritic to seriate porphyritic with a matrix of cryptocrystalline material, opaque and plagioclase. Plagioclase phenocrysts (An39 - An64) are 2.0-0.1 mm and have sieve textured cores or intermediate zones and oscillatory zoning. Clinopyroxene phenocrysts are up to 0.3 mm. Olivine phenocrysts are up to 0.3 mm and resorbed rims are present.
