Text Description: Platy to locally massive flows adjacent to vent breccia and a dike (94SJP81B). Fine-grained, holocrystalline, pilotaxitic, intergranular, porphyritic with a matrix of plagioclase, opaque, orthopyroxene and calcite. Plagioclase phenocrysts (An 38 - An62) are up to 2 mm and have multiple sieve textured intermediate zones, complex zoning, and a few have resorbed rims. Orthopyroxene phenocrysts are up to 1.75 mm. Clinopyroxene phenocrysts are up to 1 mm. Olivine phenocrysts are up to 0.7 mm, most are ~0.1 mm, and altering to iddingsite with fine-grained pyroxene ± opaque coronas. Opaque phenocrysts are up to 0.2 mm.
