Text Description: At least 2 flows underneath 94SJP54 at Site 3. Fine-grained, vesicular, weakly diktytaxitic, holocrystalline, intergranular, seriate porphyritic with a matrix of mesostasis, opaque, yellow alteration and calcite. Plagioclase phenocrysts (An28 - An47) are up to 1.4 mm and a few grains have sieve textured intermediate zones and some have complex zoning. Orthopyroxene phenocrysts are up to 0.95 mm and have thick (up to 0.2 mm) clinopyroxene rims, frequently have irregular rims when intergrown with feldspar and occasional opaque inclusions. Clinopyroxene phenocrysts are up to 0.3 mm.
