Text Description: A 30-40’ thick massive flow at Site 3. Fine-grained, holocrystalline, intergranular, seriate porphyritic with a matrix of mesostasis, opaque, alteration and calcite. Plagioclase phenocrysts (An36 - An57) are up to 0.9 mm, and a few have thin sieve textured intermediate zones, some have complex zoning, and a few have orthopyroxene inclusions. Orthopyroxene phenocrysts are up to 0.9 mm and have clinopyroxene rims, there are occasional opaque inclusions, and a few are sieve textured. Clinopyroxene phenocrysts are up to 0.3 mm .
