Text Description: At least 20' thick unit, might be 2 flows, directly underneath 94SJP33 at Site 3. Fine-grained, vesicular, intergranular, holocrystalline, seriate porphyritic with a matrix of mesostasis, opaque, feldspar, orthopyroxene, altered balls (pseudomorphs?) of calcite and serpentite/chlorite and calcite. Plagioclase phenocrysts (An29-An48) are up to 0.9 mm, and some display sieve textured zones, resorbed rims, and complex zoning. Orthopyroxene phenocrysts are up to 0.9 mm and have clinopyroxene rims, and rare feldspar inclusions. Clinopyroxene phenocrysts are up to 0.15 mm.
