Text Description: Grab sample from rubble crop with boulders up to 6' diameter on the west side of Goat Creek. Scoriaceous material on surface of the outcrop. Fine grained, vesicular, holocrystalline, intergranular, seriate porphyritic with a matrix of mesostasis, opaque, plagioclase, clinopyroxene and orthopyroxene. Plagioclase phenocrysts (An41-An47) are up to 6.5 mm and occasionally have sieve textured zones or oscillatory zoning. Olivine phenocrysts are up to 0.4 mm and are often rimmed with small orthopyroxene crystals; occasionally have opaque inclusions. Orthopyroxene phenocrysts are up to 1.65 mm.
