Text Description: Flow-like' to brecciated outcrop within brecciated material at the top of Site 12. Fine grained, vesicular, holocrystalline, seriate to glomeroporphyritic with a matrix of mesostasis, opaque, plagioclase, orthopyroxene, clinopyroxene and minor altered patches. Plagioclase phenocrysts (An28-An63) are up to 2.2 mm and frequently have sieve textured cores, normal zoning, overgrowth rims; some grains have oscillatory zoning. Orthopyroxene phenocrysts are up to 0.8 mm and some have clinopyroxene rims. Olivine phenocrysts are up to 0.6 mm and are slightly altered; a few have opaque inclusions. Clinopyroxene phenocrysts are up to 0.55 mm.
