Text Description: Agglutinate from large blocks that have fallen from higher up section at Site 7. This sample is from a massive block in the agglutinate. Fine-grained, vesicular, holocrystalline, seriate porphyritic with a matrix of mesostasis, opaque, plagioclase and alteration lining vesicles. Plagioclase phenocrysts (An34-An61) are up to 1.5 mm and some display sieve textured zones or oscillatory zoning. Orthopyroxene phenocrysts are up to 0.95 mm and some display clinopyroxene rims. Clinopyroxene phenocrysts are up to 1.0 mm. An altered phase, up to 0.3 mm, is present.
