Text Description: Subvertical, 10-12' thick dike trending N70E that cuts through the brecciated material unit (unit sBA9) at Site 12. Fine grained, vesicular, holocrystalline, seriate porphyritic with a matrix of mesostasis, opaque, plagioclase, clinopyroxene and olivine?. Plagioclase phenocrysts (An32-An62) are up to 3.75 mm and often display strong oscillatory zoning, normal zoning is also observed, some sieve textured zones are present. Orthopyroxene phenocrysts are up to 2.0 mm and some have clinopyroxene rims. Olivine phenocrysts are up to 1.4 mm and some are altered. Clinopyroxene phenocrysts are up to 1.9 mm.
