Text Description: Approximately 50' thick dipping flow overlying 94SJP3 (sBA2) at Site 12. There is a rubbly zone in between 94SJP3 and 94SJP5. Fine grained, holocrystalline, intergranular, seriate porphyritic with a matrix of mesostasis, opaque, clinopyroxene, plagioclase, and orthopyroxene?. Plagioclase phenocrysts (An41-An46) are up to 1 mm, display normal zoning and may include pyroxene or opaque grains. Orthopyroxene phenocrysts are up to 0.25 mm, can have altered cores and frequently include opaque grains. Clinopyroxene phenocrysts are uncommon and up to 0.1 mm.
