Text Description: Approximately 50' thick dipping flow (N45W, 42SW) overlying? 94SJP5 at Site 12. Fine grained, holocrystalline, seriate porphyritic with a matrix of mesostasis, opaque, clinopyroxene and orthopyroxene. Plagioclase phenocrysts (An36-An61) are up to 0.9 mm and many have fine mica along cracks, some display normal zoning. Orthopyroxene phenocrysts are uncommon and up to 0.13 mm. An altered phase is present. Mode: 76.3% matrix, 19.3% plagioclase, 4.4% alteration.
