Text Description: Basalt and basaltic andesite flows. Dense thin to thick extensive flows, locally exhibiting pronounced columnar jointing. Rocks are chiefly gray to dark-gray olivine basalts containing abundant phenocrysts of olivine, with minor hypersthene, in a felty to intergranular matrix of augite and plagioclase. Indicated source areas are the Ice Fields Plateau, the northeastern part of Jaeger Mesa, and an eruptive center in the southeast corner of the Nabesna B-5 quadrangle. K-Ar date (M.A. Lanphere, written commun., 1974) on whole rock indicates age of 0.89 +/- 0.21 m.y. (Sample 73-ARh-99)
